Wiper Switch problems - no intermittent
My 79's Wiper switch works, high and low, but no intermittent? Any thoughts on why that might be, or how to fix?
I suppose it is possible that the PO installed a bypass on it. I see that you can no longer buy the switch, hence the need for the bypass.
I'd like to get it working again. Thoughts, suggestions?
Thanks!

I did manage to find a few things out... There is a place that carries the replacement, but it is just South of $300! OUCH!!!

And there is always something called a wiper relay that is like $13 at Corvette Central which may be the fix?
I've no idea at this point.

Just a little update. I got a working wiper delay module out of another 79" from a friend of a friend for 20 bucks. I am happy to report IT WORKS!!! Finally.
After installing it, initially it did not work. I ended up changing the fuse which was partially melted. That has me a bit concerned. However, it does appear to be working. I've tested it pretty extensively. So far, so good!

Under the heater controls/radio in the center console.
See below:
FYI, you can get to it by simply removing the carpet wall (3 screws) on the drivers side. I have everything apart because I am replacing some other stuff.

People do drive cars in the rain. Corvettes do get wet.
Let me ask you this. How do you wash a Corvette? Do you use WATER???
Fiberglass does not melt.

Only bottled distilled water run thru a clear hose so that I can see if there are any foreign objects in the hose. Beer is used on the interior and it works great.

I've never understood this "do you drive it in the rain" question. Of course. It's a car. There is no way to insure that you are not going to "drive it in the rain". You may leave one day expecting no rain, and then it RAINS...
