355CI combos THAT work??
I've discussed this idea with Durango Boy(DB) and I think VORTEC is going to be the way for this. Can someone give in detail(down to cam specs-and what cam to pick). I got vortec intake numbers as well as some part numbers. Also I would like to keep my Qjet(heard nothing about great things about them)manifold of choice? Any ideas?

I have the yearone roller motor built by derebery performace in texas. Its a 355 dynoed at 425hp @ 5800 and 438ftlb of tq @ 3800 at the crank.
Spec
350 bored .30 = 355

I have a Vortec headed 355, speed pro small dish (about 9.5 c/r) w/ the GM performance Hot Cam. I love it. Makes plenty of vac. sounds good and runs like a mad man. I highly recomend using a late model block (ie 1pc rear seal & oe hyd roller)

That's exactly what we did for Curt's '74 except we used flat top pistons for a static CR of 9.75:1 and a rather aggressive cam. We won't get it to the dyno for a month or so but we're expecting great numbers based on the way it pulls the car. It started as a 1997 Tahoe engine, bored to 355, and built strong. The factory roller engines are a great starting place because they are almost exactly the same casting as Gen1 blocks so everything transfers over except maybe the temp sending unit, oil pan, and intake.

GM Hot Cams are nice cheap cams for a motor that will be mostly street, makes great mid range hp and torq. Running it in my Formula with Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads; think I am in the 375 hp and 400 tq range with the restrictions of the 1.5 rockers, 24 lbs inj's, stock tb and Edlebrock headers. With the 700r4 and 3.73 gear the tires are no match for the loud peddle from a dead stop.

I actually have an LT4-Hot Cam here for sale, it's a roller cam though and won't work with flat tappet lifters. It's never been used. Was installed, but the engine was never fire before it was stripped down and rebuilt with different parts.

I actually have an LT4-Hot Cam here for sale, it's a roller cam though and won't work with flat tappet lifters. It's never been used. Was installed, but the engine was never fire before it was stripped down and rebuilt with different parts.
