Electric fan install pics request - show me what you got!!
Im getting ready to tackle this project. Id like to see some of your install methods. Im liking the Mark VIII fan but might have to come up with something tricky for my OEM rad, If I decide to keep it. Im also open to other fans.
The more pics the better. Brent...

these are out of an 01 focus. just made some brackets out of flat steel from homedepot. that coil on top is an adjustable temp. controller from autozone. i wired each fan through a seperate relay. one fan runs off the temp. controller and the other off of a manual switch .

Sorry no pix, but imagine this...get some hardware store aluminum L channel, cut and mod to fit each end to the tabs on the top and bottom U supports making two lateral supports for the fans....then tie off some shrouding from the fan shrouds to the edges of the radiator, nice and clean....I happened to use Dual Spals from DeWitt, and they fit fine and clean, and cool the car just GREAT...
they mounted independantly of the rad core, so it floats on the rubber mounts just fine with no additional weight on it....the fans are tied to the rad support.....

The Taurus fan is a inch smaller and has the same motor as the mark fan. It will fit on the stock radiator better than the mark fan.
This is when I was mocking it up. I cut the bottom of the shroud to make a lip so it would set in the lower rad support so all I needed to make was a upper bracket.

Right there, nice install, only thing I would add is to take some angle aluminum sheet metal, and tack it to the sides of the Spal shrouds, and let it overlap onto the edges of the rad tank.....
on the bottom, I suppose you did something similar...I used roof flashing bent around to under the support....sealing that opening...

My 77
relay switched, controlled by thermostatic switch in pass. side cyl head. Simple & effective.
Same style fastening on alu rad (not vette, mopar..but it's the idea that counts) uses flexalite adjsutable thermostat w a probe for the rad core (I don't like this nearly as much as a head mounted switch but these mopars just don't have the ports to use that)

Hi Neighbor.
Here is my Mark VIII installation in my '77 with an after market aluminum radiator. The bottom also has a 1" aluminum angle pop riveted into the fan and fits into the lower radiator mount. I'm using a Delta Current Controller to control the fan.
