Default To those who have a 200R4......

could you PLEASE post a picture or your TV and THROTLE cable mount on your carburator? It doesnt matter which carb you are useing. I am useing a Q-jet and would like to see your mount with the two cables mounted

NOTE: Actually it DOES matter what carb it is!!!!
I have a 72 350 sb and have Q-jet. I did get the tv cable mount that bolts to the intake manifold from bto, BUT they dont make a throtle arm mount for a Q-jet to hook up the cable end so they sent me a universal braket. my tech said it wont work!

Thanx ...... Hammadown

Here is mine. The Lokar cable snapped right into the existing bracket where the old kickdown cable went.

That bracket above, looks for all the world like you holding it upside down.... you need bolt it to the present Qjet linkage plate, with two bolts to keep it from flipping around loose...and then it extends down over center to mount the bolt on stud to the tranny cable black plastic piece, then you set the length of the cable with the little brass screw clamp on the end there....you MAYBE able to lighten up the throttle return spring on there then....OR eliminate it entirely, as the tranny cable will be pulling back a bit, and maybe too much throttle tension for you, especially on long trips.....doubtful you will need it,

Since I am too damn tall, before I lowered my gas/brake pedals I had a problem with leg on long trips...gas pedal had no resistance to rest my foot on, so I added springs enough to make it comfy...but my springs went FORWARD off the stud the throttle cable was on....not to pull on the lower section to the rear....this kept wear on the carb base to a minimum.....

so if you use a spring, I would recommend the same position...up top and forward, instead of down lo and backward....

Mr vette , the bracket pictured is being held in a random orientation. I just pulled it out of the bag to take a picture But I understand what your saying and will give it a try

Good, For all the world I think you are about done, not too hard to finish up there....only thing to do is make damn sure then the throttle is open ALL the way, secondaries also...that the tranny cable has NO MORE length it can be possible pulled in fact the typical adjustment on them is to back out the shroud from the square holder by pressing the crescent metal button...and pulling the cable back outta there, and then forcing the throttle open from under the hood with the thing hooked up normally, this pulls the shroud into position and makes sure the cable is fully extended.....IF the tranny has a Trans Go shift kit in it....which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND....you will feel a nice firm shift from gear to gear....
