Mine are also metal tubes connecting into the trany. Just fixed a drip leak at the nut last week.

The transmission cooling lines are steel from the transmission all the up to the front of right lower control arm. Then there is two short pieces of hose that goes to the short steel pipes that are connected to the radiator. Fill out your profile so that We can learn a little more about you and what year your car is. This helps others when trying to help you with questions about your car. Oh, and welcome to the forum.

If you have any rubber line of any length on your auto trans, you'd best verify it's designed for the pressures (including the fittings). Found that out when I was 17 upon an abrupt lift at over 120, and I'm quite lucky to have lived to tell the tale.

I ran rubber lines for my after market trans cooler and used line made just for that purpose. Don't want a hose blowing.
