Default Year One 400hp engine in a 76

Hello guys,

I was thinking about buying and swapping out my L-48 for the Year One 400 hp 350. I have a TH350 currently and was thinking about buying 3.7 or 3.8 gears. How many additional parts will I need to bolt this engine on, and is the HP compatable for the TH350 stock? If I must then I will buy a new TH350 from their website as well since it has a shift kit and stall converter as well. Any suggestions are welcome, Thanks

If you're thinking about the gear change and buying a new trans, then be sure to get a tranny with overdrive. 200R or a 700R4. Not only are they beefier than the old Turbo 350 design, but they have overdrive as well so you can appreciate the low gears in the rear end.

It will be a tremendous upgrade for that car.

I PUT 700R4 CONVERSION IN AND KEPT MY STOCK GEARS, BEST IMPROVENT TO THE VEHICLE.

if your putting a new engine in you should consider all the old stuff that you will be reusing. i.e. old radaiator, having it serviced or replaced,
new hoses, belts, and backflush heater core. check the mounts and so on. i replaced everything because i didnt want to go back in there
