Default turbo 350 to a 700R4

I recently swapped my factory 3 speed automatic for a 4 speed 700R4 behind my gmpp 385hp/350 but now the shifter will only drop down to second gear when I operate it manually.......any ideas on how to get the stick to pull down into first gear?
Thanks,
Scott

You will have to modify the detent plate in your shifter due to the addition of one shift point, or order one from BTO and install in your shifter.

Thanks for the reply. Is it much trouble to modify the detent plate or easier to just order a different one? Brain dead on this end.......who it BTO?

Bowtie Overdrives. Great people to work with. You can try and modify the detent but it will not be exact match to the trans.
It is very easy to replace with the correct one so I recommend you give them a call.

By all means, get their detent conversion. If I remember right, it just required drilling out a couple of rivets and bolts right in. They also have the selector plate showing all four forward positions.
