There are no factory pumps used to force air into the intake on an 82.

The A.I.R. pump (Air Injection Reactor) pumps air into the exhaust manifolds when the ECM (computer) is in "open loop" operation (when engine is cold). The additional oxygen in the exhaust heats the exhaust gasses, and thereby the catalytic converter, making it function rapidly to reduce emissions on cold start. Once the computer goes "closed loop", the ECM uses ox sensor information to control mixture, and the pre-heated converter is doing it job. For that reason, as soon as the system goes "closed loop," the diverter valve shuts off air flow from the pump to the manifolds and the pump is not used.
There is no pump pumping any air into the intake manifold.

Unfortunately, the volume is too low to produce any pressurizing effect at all... it's about as effective as farting in the air cleaner.
