Need help with installing am/fm/cb antenna on '79
My '79 was missing it's original am/fm/cb antenna when I bought it (was stolen while in storage) nor did it have an antenna of any type in place so I have idea of how it was originally installed in the first place.
I purchased the correct AC Delco replacement am/fm/cb antenna, but the wiring is different than the original and is making the installation confusing. Have any of you installed one of these antennas before and/or have any suggestions as to how I should go about doing this. I should note that I do have some broken original am/fm/cb antennas I can use for parts to complete this job if necessary.
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated as this has been very frustrating.
Thanks!
Brandon

The standard colors are green -gray -white on both the car and the antenna. All the Delco antenna's I've installed have been green gray white.Sometimes I see the car harness changed to an aftermarket red black white. In that case- at least for me you connect red&gray--green&black---white&white. If your Delco ant. came with colors other than green gray white then you need to refer to the directions that came with it.

Is there a plug on the end? If so, I can post a pic of an original plug that you can compare to yours to get an idea of the difference in wire colors. I'd assume the plugs would connect the same.
