im pretty sure its jsut stuck...the car has been sitting for 2 years with a few drives in the summer to keep it rolling..i think thats what did it..
i removed the rocker arm and checked the rod..it's ok..not bent at all... i guess i will keep spraying it and tapping it with a hammer to fee it up...

whenever i've run across a sticking valve, the engine had a dead miss on that cylinder and so was easy to locate. otherwise, i'd turn it over going thru the routine as if i were setting the valves. check the lash. a sticking valve would have too much lash, i.e., usually an exhaust valve is not closing completely. as an example, when the exhaust valve guides wear, some of the exhaust gases accumulate between the valve and guide.

When you removed the rocker arm, could you see that the valve was stuck open, the spring was staying compressed? When you turned over the engine with the rocker arm installed, did the valve open fully but return to a partially open position?

try spraying the valve stem with solvent of your choice (use rags to catch overspray) and with the rocker removed, hit the top of the stem with a rubber mallet. the object is to work the valve up and down while getting solvent to do its thing. hopefully, the valve will work its way closed again. good luck!!!
