What type of grease should I put on my sway bar bushings?
I removed the rubber sway bar bushings from my '79 to do some detailing. I am thinking I should put some type of grease or lube in the area they make contact with the sway bar, but am not sure what I should use. Any suggestions?

The only thing (if anything) you should use on the stock RUBBER bushings is "Rubber Lube". Greases (petroleum products in general) will attack and break down the rubber.

My poly bushings squeeked badly till I wrapped the bar with teflon plumbers tape.
From what I understand,a rubber bushing shouldn't even move. The elastic property of the rubber is what allows the flexing to happen. On the other hand,a poly bushing doesn't flex, and acts more like a bearing.

Note that this grease does have a good resistance to water washout and passes the rust test.
