Hooker side pipe headers and angle plugs
Anyone have hooker side pipe headers and have angle plugs I noticed on the web site they have a disclaimer saying not for use with angle plugs
I have regular Hooker headers on the 77. I don't remember if I got angle plugs or not, but the 76 L48 350 I'm working on definatly has angle plugs. WTF Does that mean they physically won't fit or that the plug is very close to the header pipe and you need to use very high heat resistant plug wires. I hope someone can enlighten me with their past installation. I finally get all the proper #'s and then I read the fine print oh well better now than latter. (that's a first) :)

I have Hooker sidepipes with Sportsman II angle plug heads and only the no.2 plug is even close. The other 7 have plenty of room. I use ACCEL shorty plugs but that's because I HAD to use them when I had Hedman headers and now I've become very fond of them. Be advised all angle plug heads don't have the same angle. Some could cause clearance while others won't.

I'm running The Hooker header / Sidepipe combo with the angled plugs on my ZZ4. One plug is pretty close but they clear just fine!

Re: Hooker side pipe headers and angle plugs (Mike69)
I have Trick Flow 23 degree angled plug heads on my 78 Corvette. I have no problems. The plug holes have been relocated on the TF heads for this reason. One plug I had to tighten with a wrench for a socket whould not fit around the header #1 plug I beleive.

Hooker competition plus header side pipes + Twisted wedge angle plug heads.
# 2 plug is tight but managable :smash:

Re: Hooker side pipe headers and angle plugs (1979toy)
I wonder now why they would put that disclaimer? The one I'm working on has stock heads. Are the stock heads at a differant angle than the others? If it's only one or two plugs that are tough to get in and out ah gee. I could live with that put the pictures submitted don't lok like a problem at all.
