Burning Brakes
I did a quick Google serch and confirmed what I was thinking, its 1500-1800, depending on engine set up etc.

I think it is closer to 2000 based on the 72 combo. I have Gm paper somewhere and there is a spec sheet with the 2k stall on it.

No way its that high.(2000) Mine will barely stall 1500rpms. I think the most I could get it to stall was 1600rpms on a sticky track and it was about to push through the brakes. After the brakes are released and gas is hammered, it flashed to about 1700-1800 rpms which is basically no flash at all.
Mine is a stock TH400 converter with a 3.08 rear. Its nice and tight around town but could DEFINETLY use more stall speed.
You MAY get 1700-1800 out of one behind a big block but I doubt it.
