Things change once the body comes off. Stuff that looked Ok all of a sudden doesnt once new stuff/paint goes on it never ends. Lost out on driving thecar almost 10 yrs due to that compulsion
Bingo! nothing funner than smoking a 100k euro car that runs 11s. Or at least keeping up the expression on their face is priceless. I dont care if they can do it with the AC on and a latte in their right hand.

I'll be a pile of money into this '72 when finished, maybe ahead of the value, maybe not, doesn't really matter. When it's done I will know what I've done to turn that rolling heap I bought into the cherry Corvette it is when finished and no amount of money can buy that kind of satisfaction.
It's the reason I have done these restorations and customs over and over for most of my life, there is nothing that approaches that feeling when you look at it finished and can say "I did that".

Some Stick...
I have $17,449.34 into my 68 including the purchase price but who's counting. I still need a machine shop to rebuild the engine and then paint the car which I have already stripped and sanded. Will be under $25K when done I hope but will then have a new 68. Did all the work myself and you can't put a price on the enjoyment of working on it and how they look when done.
I tell my wife "some stick it in their veins, some in their noses, and I stick it in the garage" so no problem.
Keep going, you'll get there and it will be worth it when you're done.
