If Tom "Mongoose" McEwen is on the forum, he wins.

This should really be in C3 general. It would be hard to beat Big632.

Quickest C3: Big632 (blown 632 runs 7.50's - regulated down as the car would go a lot faster but the car isn't legal below 7.50)

Don't know if he's still posting...

C3AV (Angelo Valla) also has a 7 second (high 7's) C3.
He wrecked his car and I don't know what the status of the car is right now..

2000-A4 (Greg Eaton): Fastest IRS C3 on the forum (8.58)

I hope to be the 2nd fastest IRS C3 soon. The goal is high 8's with my new setup...

I wouldn't really consider a tube chassis with a Corvette body on it to actually be a Corvette..

Well, I consider them a race car with a Corvette body. That doesn't make them any less , it's just a definition..

I was thinking of street cars. We raced an '82 Pro Mod 14/71 Blown Methanol 526. The body was Corvette & it had doors but that was all that related to a Corvette. It went 6.84 at 207 but was retired in 1999. It was time for Chassis updates & I had to have more life ins. for my bus. The Life Ins. Co. said that car was out so it was parked. They said a 49 year old guy(in 1999) should find another hobby. It was red & based out of Little Rock. Now, what about street cars?

My Vette is streetable but needs racing fuel which makes it a pain.. I decided to discontinue registering the vehicle and run it full time at the track..

These threads are always fun...everyone gets to describe their idea of *street car*. I prefer to use pump gas as the main deciding factor....of course if they sell 100 octane near your house at the pump...or even better than that on the east coast...I guess I have to cut a little slack. Or if someone is willing to buy race gas and go cruising.

I'll sit back and watch this one...

My definition of a street car is street legal, period.

If you are willing to work on it and pump it full of 120 octane NOS fuel, good for you

Now streetable, is another story. It ought to run on pump gas and be able to go on an all day trip without breaking down or puking coolant.

I have a friend who used a title of another vehicle to title and register his tube chassis C3 for street driving.. He drives his 2200 big block tube chassis '78 Vette to the local Car Cruises. However, the fuel cell will only allow him to drive about 30 miles before filling up again.. I have a 5 gallon fuel cell in mine.. I'll probably be able to drive also about 30 miles with one fill up... However, I could install a larger fuel cell for longer trips BUT I'd still need race gas.. The new engine has 13.9:1 compression and it's not even anywhere close to running pump gas..

We all know what a street car is. It starts without a charger, runs on 91 or 93 & could stand at least limited street use. Lets use that defination. Now, about those time slips. Dyno results could be used if the car has not been to the track.Come on guys....don't be shy.

If you can drive your car 20 miles to the local cruise in or dragstrip, stop by the store on the way home to grab some beer, and then drive home, it IS a street car. It doesn't mater if you have to run nitromethane in it.

There are a lot of fast C3's on the forum, so a lot of ppl might not bother posting knowing this. However, I will. My '76 L82 ran low 14s in 105 degree weather last summer, beat that!

I am doing a new motor now though, but it won't be anywhere near what some ppl can do on this forum as I want it to be as streetable as possible. 427 sbc, efi setup, probably 550 hp. Might put a centrifugal blower on it down the road though...

Not to be picky...but dyno results are meaningless to your initial question. No dyno ever raced down a track as far as I know. Wait...Olivier may have raced a dyno hooked to an automatic with a stall speed ONCE.
