So did anyone get pics or any more information on the fitment of the Ramjet 350? This is quite exciting!

Go out and measure from the top of the front of the block to the hood in it's closed position. If it's 9.75" or higher, then you have enough room. If it's under 9.75" then it won't fit under your hood.

I can't do that right now. The body is off the frame.

Default I've got some pictures under my photos...

off to the left here.
<---

It' s under an L88 hood but I can take some other pictures to check how far above the fenders the top sits....if someone wants that.

All information is helpful. I am specifically insterested in fitting it under a stock 79 hood though.

Yeah if you could measure tot he fender line that would be good. Just a baseline to judge fitments for anyone interested. Thanks.

Thanks!
I have seen a LS 1 swap in a 69 and I think it was under the factory hood. thats what I would go with. looks like we have another south Louisiana vette on the forum.

What's the height difference between the LS motors in their stock location, and a Ramjet under the hood? I know the LS engines fit...but what of the Ramjets?

Sorry for the late response...I don't regularly check the forum. The oil pan on the Ramjet needs to be repaced with one that has the room for the steering links. The stock RamJet oil pan is sloped and will hit the links. When you do change the pan, a few of the main cap bolts will need to be changed because of the windage tray bolted to the main caps (different bolts).

Great explanation. Thanks for the info.

One point of clarification:

The C4 LT1/LT4 oil capacity is 4.5 quarts, with approximately a half quart of that being in the filter (thus a 4 quart pan).

Be well,

Default I just used a later model chevy pan...

The problem I had with my RAmJet oil pan was that it hung way too low. The steering interference was minor in my case but was going to need to be addressed.
As far as the windage tray, I was just going to cut the edges off until a friend of mine suggested I bend the edges down to avoid disassembling the bottom end.....so that's what I did, and the regular old late-model Chevy pan bolted right on.

So with an oil pan modification the 350 ramjet will fit under a stock hood of a 79?

Modifying the oil pan won't have an effect on the overall height of the engine.

I too would like some input on whether or not the Ram Jet will fit under the stock hood. Im ordering my engine next week
