Some Late Carlisle Pics. Some cars you won't believe
I have over 100 pictures from carlisle this year. If anyone wants the zip files post your address and I'll send them to you.
Here are some Cars from Carlisle that I don't think anyone has posted. I'm not trying to trash this, but it's an example of how basket case C1's and C2's go for more money than numbers matching Bumper C3 Roadsters.
Here's a 61 that only needs some wax, says so on the windshield. Anyone know the story behind this?
Here's what's left of a 61 that someone's asking 2700 for. I can't imagine anything except for the VIN on this car being usable. Even the frame is rusted out and bent.
Here's 61basket case that went for 7K
A Pieces missing 63 and 64 that went for 23K and 14K respectively.
Here's the one that shocked me most of all. This car went for 26K. I can't believe it. This thing needs like 40-50K to make it look right again. Everything on this car needs to be rebuilt.
Here's one of the neatest things I saw there that I might actually duplicate. I see posts all the time on the forum asking about heat shields for hooker sidepipes. These are probably the coolest looking one's I've seen yet. I'm not sure what they were made out of as the owner was not nearby and I didn't want to touch his car without permission.

Hi Steve,
I'm from Luxembourg and one of this years, I need to visit Carlisle.
Pls sent pics to me as well.
Looks like if C2 go for higher prices as C1 ?

I saw a basket case 53 go for 50K.
It's amazing what people will pay for some of these cars. If it's what they want, more power to them. It's just amazing to me sometimes.
I've fwd'd the pics to everyone who's requested so far.

ok, I'm having to resend a bunch of these. The damn zip files are too large, so I'm going to break everything down into smaller chunks.

Ya really gotta have an itch and deep pockets for those prices. Hold onto your C-3, we're next.
Oh, if you could ZIP them off to me too.
Thanks

Interesting pics Steve. Hard to imagine these cars were once pristine vettes . Anyway, how often is a sucker born?

Good pics Steve. I was amazed at the prices of junk for sale there. If someone had money burning holes in their pockets, there were lots of complete cars for sale there. I don't get it.

"ok. All pics are sent.
Anyone else want them?"
I DO..I DO!!!
wfle@home.com
Personally, I think those prices are rediculous!!:smash:
Corvette Trader has some really fine '65 & '66 coupes for mid to high 20's every month. I can't believe anyone would pay those prices for little more than a rolling shell.
