well, the guy i bought it from rarely drove it and couldnt work on it cause of arthritus......so I got it for a good price....few weeks later (after driving it to 20min to work everyother day and so on)....the motor started to knock. checked oil and it had gas in it..changed oil...then lost oilpressure about 2days later....so I just pulled it out....was hoping it would blow cause it was leaking oil from pan to the 2 front/rear mainseals....

now I know what cam is in it (it had a comp 280H.... .480 lift)...it will have a stall, and will be put together correctly!....

I'll have to get some pics and video up when I get this thing running!....

yeah, I've been busy too!

these came out nice considering I did them myself with spray paint and some clearcoat.....

well, especially when compared to what they were when the motor started knocking!

maybe it's too much for the motor, but oh well....atleast i can say I did it myself....

Needs to knock out either the chevy or power circle and put in a breather.

I'd say you'll need new tires pretty quickly.

You'll probably make between 425 and 450 HP (325-350 RWHP) about the same torque, maybe a little more at around 5800-6000 rpm.

Your setup is real close to mine, I'm running 10.75:1 CR a little more cam (retro roller) on 92 octane, no problems 491 HP / 481 Ft Lb

Pressed in wrist pins ??? May want the local engine builder to put them in. Going to balance everything ??? Highly recommended. Local machine shop or engine builder should be able to help you there.

Oh, one more thing...since I put my stroker in my '79 I've had to:

1) Replace U-joints
2) Rebuild transmission
3) Rebuild (shattered) differential
4) Replace Trailing arms and wheel bearings

Be preparred to find the weak spots, might want to install shaft hoops. If you put bigger stickier tires on you'll find the weakest links faster, I'm still running stock rubber.

Regardless of rod style ... Unless you specified a small base circle cam, rod-to-cam lobe clearance needs close scrutiny ... I like min 0.050"-0.060". As there's likely to be grinding dust/metal bits flying around during clearancing ... PRE-assemble motor with NO rings & and OLD, Sacrificial bearings (in correct size) and tight but Sacrificial timing chain. If you use an old piston during clearancing, make certain it has same pin offset/no offset as final piston ... measure both.

*edit* appears IK200 has no threaded hole for water temp sending unit ... if you're gonna pickup temp from head, address this first.

With that unvented passenger side valve cover, all that stuff won't work on your car.

You can box it all up and send it to me.

Looks like your going to have fun

I didn't see a new carb in the buy list. You might want to consider it if what I saw was a 600 vacuum secondary Holley. I would go with a minimum of 750 cfm...and make it a double pumper too if you're gonna have a decent stall.

You guys got me a little confused. Why would it need to breathe through both sides? Both valve cover "areas" are connected to the crankcase by the open oil return passages so wouldn't only one side need breathers/pvc?

Two heads, two sets of valves, two breathers. Least that's always been my understanding.

Both banks are supposed to breathe independently

I think Ill wait for someone with more knowledge than myself to explain this to you but that setup will most likely cause problems...some will agree and some will not.

Do some research on PCV control.
It is very important...more than most people realize
