Default Half shafts and wheelies - Woops!

So having discovered that my big block half shafts are not good enough for my 350 430hp 435ft/lbs motor and 275x40x18 tyres combo.

What half shafts should I buy next, since I dont think I can fix this one!

Take them to your local axle guy and have them cut them, put in a lathe and mill out the weld, keep the ends and weld them together with a new pipe of the proper length but this time use a thicker pipe, maybe even DOM if you can get that. They are 3" right? The pipe is pretty thin wall, I have a couple lying around here that I cut apart..after seeing how thin it was I wasn't surprised they twist like that.

I would recommend .134 wall thickness tubing.

Don't jump to conclusions. A little JB weld and duct tape and you should be good togo.

That's pretty impresive!

I was thinking of getting Denny's 'nitros ready' driveshafts, anybody used them?

Sorry TT just no time to do as you suggest, for sure the best and most economic option but Russia is claiming a lot of my time right now.

Yup it was on street tyres and these were 3" big block half shafts! when it wound itself up it pulled the wheel hard into the chassis and bent the Smart Strut Bracket. Once I got over being pissed off about being a smart *** show off, I was even impressed!

Since you are in the UK, I wouldn't bother trying to imort any from the states, too costly! Find a local shop that makes/balances driveshafts, and have them whip up a couple of 3" dia. x 0.134" thick shafts, and use some Spicer 1350 u-joints and appropriate ends.

Wow, now that is pretty cool! Save that as a trophy! I'm impressed that street tires can hook that well.

Driving on the left side of the street will do that!! (confuses the heck out of those halfshafts!! )

Does it still drive like that? i would just leave them as-is and drive gently!

Thanks guys, it will go on the wall, in twisting up it pulled the wheel hard onto the chassis so the whole rear end was seized!

I really would appreciate some info on Denny's
