Default Jim, Twin Turbo...82 ECM Coolant Temp Sensor quick question

The original coolant temp sensor that sends the signal to the ECM is still on my 82 after 122k miles on it. The wires are starting to frey at the connector. I bought the newer style sensor/replacement connector kit, the one with the weather pack connector as suggested. Ac Delco 75m6 1 # 213-52 # 10045847.
The leads on the car going to the existing sensor are black and yellow. The black is the ground and the yellow is the voltage wire going to the ecm. The new sensor hjas two white leads comming of it, Does it matter the order of connection to the leads? If so, leads being white, how do I tell which one to splice to the original black and which one to splice to the original yellow?

No it does not matter which way you wire it. Be sure to heat shrink the connectors to seal against the wires.
