Default What are the advantages to aftermarket lower a-arms?

I'm comparing options on lower a-arms and looking at the costs VS rebuilding my factory units.

First off, I see big advantages for the uppers on the market. But with the lowers, it seems that some models might facilitate monoleafs or coil overs or that a couple of pounds might be saved (2.25 ea with Van Steel lowers @ $700.00). I'm sticking with coils. The suspension is a good place to save weight but for street driving, the small weight savings doesn't seem worth that cost or that it would even be noticable. Is there any other advantage to the aftermarket lowers?

The advantages are that they are lighter and stronger but also being able to convert to different types of front end set ups. Like you mentioned, doing the coilover conversion, the front monospring or the semi-coilovers. No other real advantages except for looks and cool factor.
