Default Nuts for C-O-R-V-E-T-T-E emblem

Does anyboday know where I can find the attaching nuts for the C-O-R-V-E-T-T-E lettering in the back panel of my 73. I need three,..they're the acorn-shaped nuts,..don't know what they're called.

Thanks,
Wes

You can probably find them at most small hardware stores, ACE, True Value, etc.

I bought them at Autozone or Pep Boys. Called speed nuts, I think.

I think you got the name exactly. They are called acorn nuts.

Any good hardware store should carry them.

Good Luck!

I can't find them at my hardware stores. The letters are not attached with the usual speed nuts,..it's an acorn shaped nut that covers the whole stud.

Try the hardware section at Lowes they seem to have a better section which even includes some automotive fastners. You may even try Fastenal. There are a few around town one is on 1431 west of 183 just after Walmart on the right. They only deal in fastners. Good luck.

Then maybe my name is off because that acorn shaped nut is what I got, but I bought mine from either Pep Boys or Autozone. Did you try them?

Just for future reference, I think those are called Pal nuts, and you can get them at the 'Help' department of your parts store.

That is the correct name, PAL NUTS and still used on todays car's & truck's.
A google search shows how widely used they are.

My "pal" nuts were not my pals, they'd slip and come off and I didn't want to risk losing a letter, so I ran a tap over the studs (just using my finger), I think it was an 8-32 and now I can use regular nuts.
