Default Shop manual

After my last post, (A/C help) one of the helpful post sent pic's of a service type manual. I had a 'Haynes' for the '71 Porsche I redid and it was pretty good. The 'Haynes' I bought for the Vette is really generic. What is the recommended manual to buy. I have several on my 'Evil Bay' watch list.

How do I become a supporting member, this site has already saved me money?

Can't seem to find the link to be a supporting member. Which main screen are you refering to. The forum home page?? Found a link on some manuals but no '79's. Also, saw nothing referring to support. Looked at all the drop downs including FAQ's. Have found some "Shop Manuals" on E-Bay ($50) and some "Assy Manuals" ($20). Are they the same info? If I need both, no problem.

Thank's

Go to www.ncrs.org, click on the store web site and order your GM Service Manual reprint. They will even get it out the same day. DOn't need to be a member.

Hands down, the MOST important manual for your Corvette.

For the money, the best place to get factory service manuals is eBay. Some of those reprints are hellishly expensive.

Here's a link to a repro manual. This book is a 'must have' - just find the correct one for your year.
I bought one for my '79 and it's an original. I didn't know it was original when I bought it (for $50). It's in great shape - too good to cover with oil and anti seize..... I'll likely buy a re-print for 'garage use only'

I agree with that statement but it doesn't tell you how to repair your car, just how to assemble it. Fwiw, I own the 72 AIM, GM Service Manual, Haynes, Holley carb repair booklet, and the 70-72 Judging manual.
