Its attached to the drivers side bulkhead electric plug one end, and a vacuum pipe running to a tee piece to the carb base and the valve cover (pcv valve) http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...e/100_0181.jpg

Year?

Nothing like it on my '68, '74, or '80. Makes me suspect 81-82?

A 1980 dosnt have a lock up converter! That switch is used with the carbon canister /egr system.Gm does call it a trann conv switch. You can see a diagram of it on the vacum hood label,I am still not sure what it has to do with the tranny

Hi...well not to disagree with anyone but I bought my 1980 corvette new and it came with a lock-up converter.

My '80 has a lockup (TH350). Some time ago I was wondering what that was. The shop manual lined me out and I hooked it back up.

Yes you guys are correct! The 80 has a lock up converter and that is the vacum switch to prevent lock up if vacum is not correct
