Repair fresh air door?
Does anyone know how to repair the fresh air vent door on my 76.
It's made out of plastic and after all these years the edges are breaking
off. The lower one is in the same shape. They both work but just
don't seal anymore.
Does anyone sell replacements, I don't remember seeing them in
any catalogs. Maybe I could cut something and attach it around the
edges. Has anyone done a repair like this?

I repaired the one on my pace car with a pice of leather, I cut it a little larger than the door and glued it around the edge with a few pop rivets to hold it.
I had the problem of it not sealing before with the AC on max, it would let hot outside air in the car and not cool down good.
I fixed this and it fixed the problem.
It was done about 10 years ago and still worls fine.

Vent Door Sealing
Hi, There was an article in Corvette Fever Magazine( July 2005 Issue) regarding fixing the C3 vent door seal using the Doc Rebuild kit previously mentioned. Just got finished with the actual door rebuild and will be applying the sealer to the plenum as mentioned in the article. Hope to help reduce some of the interior heat this way.
