Default How can I make a 250 pound rear spring.

If I redrill the holes narrower On a stock 9 leaf this should equate to a ~250 pound spring. Could this cause binding on the rear becuase the bolts are at too much of an angel? I don't think so but it could happen. The 9 leaf is 200 and the 7 leaf is around 297 but I need it right in between to get my roll couple correct.

I see no issues in a 1.5 inch shorter spring, nor have I experienced any.

It should increase the spring rate slightly.

It would be quite easy to build a spring rate testing jig if you need to be that exact.

Just drill one side. Cut just past the hole on one side then drill one new hole. Now measure 1/2 way between the holes for a new center hole. Then drill a new 3/8th hole for assembling the spring pack.
This will cause the bolts to slant inward only while the car is on stands but as soon as the weight rests on the spring it will be fine.
I ran one of these springs for years.
When drilling the outer hole you need to use something like a milling machine so you can slow the speed right down and lots of oil.

Norval. I agree that he likes it here. Most do if they stay around for any time at all. But...breaking the rules are clearly spelled out. He has broken more than 1 and now has come under a new username which, in my opinion, is a "thumb to the nose" to the mods who issued his vacation to begin with. Everyone who types here wants to be here. Their actions and interaction with fellow members determines whether they stay here.
Again, in all do respect to you, (your mods and knowledge are one of the reasons I come back daily) Rulez are Rule z

I must have really been asleep for this one but I drop in here daily and suddenly everyone is all over the kid because of what?? I heard the word "****"" ? Are we that childish that we can't stand a little ****??
Come on old guys like me need the excitement.
One guy on the forum was posting nude pictures of his wife or a link where you could get them. So what.
He made a mistake and usually they just delete the post. Was he kicked out? suspended for a short time??
I can be grumpy too but I like to give the kid a break. I can tolerate him alot more then people who just post for every post.
At least he contributes something to the posts by opening his mouth and actually saying something.
I'm for dumping THIS guy and bringing the real Yellow73sb back
That's my opinion?? and I am sticking to it.
Bring the kid back.

Yes, he does actually say things vs lurking all the time. Problem is, what he says, 50% of the time is downing someone elses comments or posts. Taking PM issues to the Public forum etc. He needs to grow up and learn the ediquite (sp) of the forum. At this point, he is far to immature for it.

I think the new account started before Yellow started his 'school break', so I don't think its him. It may be a buddy of his.
On the other hand maybe the kid was smart enough to start a 2nd account in anticipation of getting a boot.

I think this is more likely since he only made 5 posts under this new name...before he got booted. Smart enough? Naw...maybe devious enough
Also...he was on at 8:47 this morning and didn't bother to defend himself (as either poster)
