Default '69 Side Exhaust

As I understand the original mufflers for a '69 big block side exhaust have a 2-1/2" inlet end that attaches to the manifold. Within the next 3-4" it necks down to 2". Is this correct and does anybody make a muffler that has 2-1/2" pipes all the way to the muffler?

Yep and then inside the diameter is only like 1 7/8" !
Not exactly a performance muffler
