Default 2nd Gear Uh oh

We were bracket racing at a local 1/4 mile strip. I adjusted the TV cable on our T700 R4 trans to allow it to shift at 4800 rpm vs ~ 5500 when set per specs.

We made 4 passes, dial in plus winning 2 rounds, at consisatnt 15.5s. 3rd run my son cut a good light and was leading until ~ 3/8 mile. The time was 16.1 (WTF?).

He said the trans shifted to second, revved to ~ 3500 and then started slipping as if in neutral. He shifted to neutral and back to drive and no more slipping. I adjusted TV cable back to specs and have been driving with no problems. Any ideas???

do NOT change shift points of a 700r4 with the TV cable. you may have already done that tranny in actually.

read number 6 in particular. There are springs in the governor that control the WOT shift points. I believe you need to measure line pressure to properly set the TV cable.

Thanks for the link.
I'm going to order a

700R4 Shift Point Package. This kit allows you to raise or lower the shift RPM.

And hope I didn't hurt my baby too bad.
