Power Brake Conversion

Power Brake Conversion
Has anyone changed a Manual brake to a power brake setup? Outside of a new Master Cyl, Booster, Vac Line and I assume new brake lines down to the block is there anything else required? Its on a 69 350 car.

they come as a complete kit, master/booster, and no other changes are needed than you already noted

This is really one of the best add on options you can do for the car and it's not really all that hard.
You will need booster and cylinder assembly. http://willcoxcorvette.com/product_i...ducts_id=22171
The cars with standard brakes have two studs on the firewall; you will need to knock these out of the firewall (they will fall inside the car).
Then using the two upper holes from the studs as a guide, mark the lower holes and drill them for the lower booster holes.
Once you do this, you’ll need to enlarge the hole in the firewall for the rod from the power brake booster. Yes it bolts to a different position on the pedal but doing this is real easy. If you look under your dash you’ll see a round hole on a non power brake car. On a power brake car it was egg looking. The inside reinforcement was the same for both power and standard had this egg looking hole made in to it and if you look under the dash you’ll see what portion of the fiberglass you’ll need to remove.

Take my advice, you really don't want a vacuum booster, you want a hydroboost unit.....took me a while to become convinced but I did the changeout some ten? years ago, and lemme tell you, it's the BEST thing ever done to the brakes, AFTER the O ring conversion kits in my old stainless lined calipers.....
I have about 2" of brake pedal to lockup, not some 4" and a huge WOOOSH from under the dash....like a typical GM product....

For now I'll do the Vac Booster. I don't have power steering on the car so the Hydro boost would not be an option until I change it over as well.
