Default A/C vacuum lines

Guys, I am trying to figure out the vacuum line for the heater and A/C. I have all of the figured out but the green line. On my harness diagram it shows the green line goes to the valve to allow outside air in. On my car, 1980, this valve is controlled by a cable connected to the top of the unit right beside where the water shut-off mounts. Where does this green line go? Is there a valve somewhere I can't see?

Thanks
Mike

Default Green vac. hose

In looking at the vacuum schmatic (spelling?) for My 79 the green
hose appears to go to the valve that operates the fresh air door
located in the passenger side footwell behind the kickpanel. Not positive
of this but thats how it appears to Me.

Looking at my diagram it looks like that one is the orange hose....
It almost looks like the green one is inside where the heater core is, but that valve is controlled by a cable.

Any other thoughts?

Default Green vac. hose

Went out to garage and traced green hose and at least on a 79
it does go to vacuum actuator for fresh air door in passenger side
footwell. I suppose its possible 80 models are different.

the green tracer closes the wiper well accuator and also opens the passenger side accuator located in the footwell kickpanel via a ''t'' in the vaccume line,,which feed the orange line, this is done in ''max air ''mode which simply shuts off outside air,, and re-cools the cooled cabin air.....this fender is used as a plenum,,,you'll notice when clipping down the highway, the passengers right foot gets hot,its drawing the engine heat, and throwing on the passengers right foot,,,as you select''max air'' the accuator in the wiper well closes the flapper and opens the passenger side kick panel accuator/flapper to reverse air flow,,,now the fan is pullin the air in the oppisite direction, its taking the cabin air past the passengers right foot and then cooilin it again and throwin it back at ya,,,,once you switched to ''max air''there foot stops gettin hot, this is the vaccume diagram for my 73, i colorcoded it then a month or so later i saw don olsons color coded wiring diagrams and kicked my self in the butt for not thinkling of it,,,since being a electrican by trade,,,i do this all the time!!!!!!!!

My 1980 has the same diagram, other than I have a white hose that goes to the water valve. Where exactly does the green hose go. It looks like it leaves the interior through the firewall then comes back into the car somewhere. Since green and orange are on the same "T" I assume this is why some people have the green going to the kick panel actuator, but then where does the orange go? Where is the second actuator? And how do I get to it?

Thanks
Mike

You are right about the green hose, comes through the firewall behind
the shielding for the distributor, then goes into the trough where the
windshield wipers are, then goes under the passenger side debris screen
and down to vac. actuator for plenum door. The orange should "T"
off under the dash and go to vac. actuator for Recirculating air door
which is in the AC plenum . If You raise the hood and go to the AC
plenum on the pass. side, remove the 2 screws that hold the resistor
to the top of the AC plenum, remove the resistor, look in the hole and
You can see the Recirculating air door but not the actuator.Have no
idea how You would get to it to attach orange Vac. hose if the need
arises.( I type with one finger and My fingers tired now)

Don't know if You saw previous message I posted but ALL of info in
it was wrong. Finally got up off of My fat rear and looked at 79 real
close. This is correct (I think). Orange goes to footwell vac.actuator.
Green goes through firewall and back into trough where windshield
wipers are, goes under pass. side debris screen and down to vac.
actuator for recirculating air door. The orange runs under the dash
from where it T's off the green to the actuator located in the pass.
footwell.

Thanks, I will check that out. I was wondering where it went back in.

Thanks guys, I got it. I didn't remember taking off a hose that went up there, but that was awhile ago.
