Default Removing brake light lenses.

It all started with a burned out rear bulb. I got the bulb out, replaced it, and now can't get by hand back up into the rear to reach the plug in. Don't know how I got it in the first place. VERY tight spot with no turning radius at all hardly. Is there an easy way to remove the lens to put the bulb back in by fishing the bulb through to the outside of the bumber? I found a nut on the inside that appears to be related to the lens but when I took it out it didn't seem to really do anything. Oh by the way, it is a 1974 and has 4 round rear lights about the size of a coffee cup saucer. For those with 74s I am sure you knew that! Thanks in advance for all the responses.

I know that you can probably take the lens off from the outside and repleace the the bulbs in the sockets that away..but I have always pulled mine out from behind the housings under the car. Changed over
to the Bubble taillamps and all is good. Will still go from under car to do this..is your arm (guns) extra large..come on man.. Hope this helps..Joe!

Each lens on my 76 is mounted with 2 screws that you can see when looking at the lens.

Remove the screws and pull out the lens and housing.

That might work, but '74 taillights are one year only.

They should still come off when the lens screws are removed.
They might be stuck on with the gasket .... may need slight persuading.

Just remove the 2 screws that hold it into the bumper and slide the taillight assembly out of the bumper. Twist the lamp socket counterclockwise and remove it form the tailight. Replace the bulb and re-assemble it in reverse order.

There ain't no "lens screws" on a 74. When viewing from the rear of the car looking forward, you only see plastic...no screws.

I've been wondering myself. How do you get these suckers off? From behind the bumper facia? Not a lot 'o room under there.
