Default Need hood clearance to carb What hood

Hey guys, Im running a Team G Weind intake I looked thru the intake runners and see that my ports don`t match with the 230 Dart alum heads, the ports are higher than the intake,so im thinking of getting the Dart intake to match the heads andI know Im going to have clearance issues with the stock hood (73 vet), Right now I have a 14 x 4 with drop base air lid, Here`s the question I have , will a L88 aftermarket hood give me the clearance im after? THANKS

Why not just get a 3" filter? I've seen many tests done on filter sizes and the results showed that the best gains where from the type of filter (oiled vs cheap paper, etc) and from the shape of the lower filter base.

Tshort, have you any more info on this, particularly the shape of the lower filter base? THis is interesting.

does the l88 hood or the high rise hood offer more clearance than the stock 73 hood?

3-4 inches more, but then again it is a major project.

I have a friend that has that setup and I think you will have to use a really small air cleaner....
