Default Stock electric fan on 81 question...

If you reversed the two electrical connections for the fan, would it run backwards? Stock 81 electric fan in front of regular fan. Hookup are two prongs on passenger side close to spark plug. Please tell me I am this stupid......

What are you trying to do with this aux fan? It doesn't pull much CFM, it's for extra cooling when the A/C is switched on. I'm ditching mine since I am switching to dual SPAL fans and a new aluminum rad.

Are you just trying to hook it back up and it is running backwards?

Isn't one wire for the ground? It will just not run, period, if you switched the wires. Why would you want it to run backwards?

Was just trying to make sure it wouldn't run backwards. The wires had come off, and I hooked them back up.

Thanks....

The piece that is screwed into the cylinder head is a temperature sensitive switch. The contacts close at something over 200 degrees, I don't know the exact number. It would make no difference at all if you reversed the leads.
