what a crock of BS----it's just a copy, not the original, and a crappy copy at that-- and I would bug the crap out of the local DMV office before I gave the greedy bastiches @GM $50 for it---the sorry SOBs are lucky that people like us are willing to maintain the friggin' cars so they can continue to promote the line and overcharge out their corporate azzzzzzes for new ones like they do--yeah, it really ticks me off--'nuff said.

Remember folks...You're not getting an "original invoice". I would have given $150 for the ORIGINAL invoice. Other than some option codes on mine, it's useless for anything to display with the car. In fact, the colored logo GM envelope is better to display than the fuzzy copy they sent.

All you will get from GM will be a newly printed and folded, photostatically copied picture of a microfiched invoice. There is nothing "original" about it except for the info on it. The paper is new, the copy is third generation and it shows it. The only thing "great" about it was that is was free....

So much for that.

just got mine yesterday in the mail on my 79, requested it back in mid January, glad i got it for free. seems my vette was built on 10/30/78(which i already knew), shipped to a dealer in Cromwell, Indiana on 10/31/78, thanks to Peggy and GM, i'm sorry $50 is to be charged now, it's nice to know the info i rec'd, but don't think one piece of paper is worth $50.

I received my invoice yesterday. Re-reading Peggy's original posting I think the deal MAY be that if you requested an invoice before 3/1 you would get it free and after 3/1 you have to pay the $50. For me the 2 most interesting points on my invoice were the originating dealer - local in Canton, Mass., and the fact that the car was originally Silver with dark blue leather interior. The car is now White but I think I saw some silver around the windshield frame when I was poking around a few months ago.

I still don't know if I would be willing to pay $50 for the invoice but I give Peggy for her efforts.
