Default retractable hard top vette?

watching the Barrett-Jackson preview on Speed channel right now. they did a feature on the vettes that will be up for sale. one is a 1958 "fully retractable hard top corvette". didn't even know it existed.
also, something called a "phase 3" 69 with matching number 427. says only 10 were made. anybody know anything about these cars.

I saw both of these cars today....and then some.

The 58 is one-off custom made. It was never a production vehicle.

I believe the phase 3 vettes were specially built by Motion Performence in conjunction with Baldwin Chevrolet a dealership in Baldwin, NY. Hence, the name Baldwin-Motion

I quickly read an ariticle about the 1958 retractable Corvette Hard top. As I recall it was a GM prototype that GM management decided against putting into production. In those days, GM executives had were able to buy (be given?) such cars.
