Re: Lots of misc. parts for '68 - '72 for sale or trade (68 drop top)
Hi Dave . I have a complete set of the '68 only grill braces , and a few odd pieces . Do you need all ? I've had these for quite a while , and as I'm sure you know , they are hard to come by . As to the bonding pieces w/tabs , I have those too , but they are part of a complete set w/light housings . I do not want to break these up . Do you think your tabs are repairable ? Seems like a little fiberglass work and a drill would do it ? Let me know which brackets you need , Geo

Jughead : Tell ya what I'll do ; I'll ship these to you , you look em over , and if you're satisified , you can send me the $'s . Only thing I ask is that you agree to pay shipping both ways if you decide to decline the purchase . (you would pay one way shipping if you do purchase --of course) G.

I don't really need the whole column. Don't know if you want to part it or not.
The problem is that the turn signal does not lock in the left position. I was told by the local Vette shop that the neccessary part is a 67/68 only part (of course!), and that the aftermarket part is $25, whereas all other years are around $10.
Anyway, if you decide you'll part it, let me know.
If it was a telescopic column, I might think about upgrading my standard and just buy the whole thing off you.
Thanks.

Too late George, that was back in January, and I first wrote to you about the covers back in Nov 2003! Can't chance sending that kind of money, not knowing whether I'd get anything in return.

I don't have time for this. Keep your covers.

Before you spend the money on a new switch assembly, dissassemble the top of the column to expose the switch. The switch is symetrical and on mine the only thing wrong was that a small spring was missing and u do not even have to remove switch from column to replace it.
The spring on the left or right is what automatically turns off the signal. The switch may have broken causing the spring to pop out or the spring may have just popped out. Might save u $100.00 to check before buying whole new switch. A lot of times the spring may even be somewhere in the column. May fall out when u dissassmble. Pop it back in and you are good to go!
