hmmm I’m not sure of the actual part number. only thing I know is the tank was specific to that one year. My car is in the shop so I cant take off the tank to reference any part numbers. Can anyone from the forum community help with this?

This part is a tough buy. That year item has been discontinued for quite some time and has a different inner (toward fenders) design than the 74-77 tanks. All the parts houses sell the one part for 73-77 and it does not fit properly for 1973.

Thats correct, it's wrong for a 73. As mentioned above the plastic 73 tank is a unique one year only design.
njvt13, What's wrong with your original tank? If you don't mind me asking. Is it leaking? Or is it just really yellowed"discolored) from age?

Its cracked along the backside and shattered but intact along one of the frontside edges. It’s so brittle that when I was changing the fuel pump, my elbow hit the tank and it shattered lol
