Default NOS GM 70-72 Exhaust Tips

Here's a pair of NOS GM service replacement exhaust tips for 1970-1972. 3974659 and 3974660. Both are as mint as when they were made. I actually opened the box of the 3974659 as it was factory sealed until this morning. $300. plus $10. shipping. Thanks for looking. PM or email toylman@aol.com

Can you tell me if these will pass NCRS judging? I thought they had to be welded around the entire back side of the tip.

It depends on what year your Corvette is. There was 3 styles used. The only correct 1970 ones have no seam & welded around the pipe in the back. Dick Fortier made some 100% correct repos but I think he sold out & not now available.

I have an original Black 71 Big Block convertible that is a May car and has only 19k original miles. The exhaust and shocks are the only items that have been replaced on the car except new tires.

The tips are as good as you can find but originals had no part numbers so a deduction would be made also the back was welded some years.

Thanks Lenny, that really helped. I thought it might have been a 2 point deduction. Let me ponder on it.

I am curious about the answer. How will they do in judging?

There will be deductions for having part numbers (not TFP) and not having a welded back at the perimeter.
