This thread - MY_HOT_WEATHER_WOES_THREAD - has some pics of what I have now and want to just get a complete and improved version of.
Honestly though this is a driver so NOS is going to probably be outside of my budget.

Thanks for replying Bill! It's copper and I do want the plastic version with extension.

I shroud I have is metal (which should be correct for small block non a/c '69 corvettes).
I wonder when/where your car got the big block-a/c copper radiator?

My car was born ~ Aug 30th, 1969 as an L46 to the best of my knowledge. Is it possible that they started this radiator implementation near end of 69s?
It could also be just plain wrong The manual tranny (M21) is the original to the car and there is no box for the A/C in the engine bay. Not sure how else to verify what I should have.
This is the same part number on Ecklers
•GM # 3956109
Fits The Following Applications: 1969 With Air Conditioning Except 427HP 1970 350ci With Manual Transmission & Air Conditioning Except HP 1970 350ci With 4-Speed Transmission & SHP Except HD 4-Speed 1970-72 350ci With Automatic Transmission 1970 350HP 1971-72 350ci With Manual Transmission & Air Conditioning 1971-72 350SHP 1971 With HD Radiator

I should add that I am happy to keep this style shroud unless it's the reason the current one in the car is hacked up. I just want the most effective cooling. It's already NOM and other items.

Melting Slicks
I would say that it is that way for most of the year. I have never seen an aluminum radiator/metal shroud/overflow tank on an L46, but Bizzoco lists one in his book, and it is a fairly early one at that.

I agree. I am the second owner of my Aug 69 L-46, no Ac. It has a copper radiator with plastic surround. It is original to the car.

Thank you everyone for the help.
I am going to hang out and wait for a used one in good shape to come along. It's the best cost option and product too in the end based on everyone's input. I am clearly not going to have one in time for the rally next weekend so I may bubba mine up a bit to try to improve the flow on the cheap with what I have while I wait.
