Default WTB: Rear leaf spring

My stock steel leaf spring broke last night on the way to my buddies house so I'm in the market for a new one. I'll consider a steel one if the price is right but ideally I'd like a fiberglass one. I'm also taking recommendations on which lb fiberglass to buy for a lower stance. You can also email me directly at jayedyburn@yahoo.com for a faster response.

Thanks guys --Jay

:EDIT: I'm located near Chicago, shipping zip is 60189.

Doh! FYI a floor jack and a tie down will get ya home if this happens.

I guess you could try. It's a 76 4 speed car. I was not aware there were different types. Let me know if I need to measure anything, it's not a problem.

Awesome, I'm glad to have so many responses. I'm going to take a few days and see if anyone has an aftermarket fiberglass unit they are looking to get rid of before I buy a steel one. Just my luck someone will respond the second after I paypal the money over. If I dont hear of anything by the weekend I'll get in touch with one of you metal spring guys. I'd just rather buy a fiberglass one, do the job once, and be done with it. Thanks again guys

Call VBP and talk to Gary. He can get you a fiberglass one for the low. I got my dual mount one for $236 shipped. Hope this helps. Don't forget to mention this Forum!!

I have a couple new fiberglass springs available but you need to know the width of your current spring. I have found that year doesn't help because the differential covers can be changed therefore changing the spring width needed.

I have a 76 L48 4 speed and my spring width is 2 ½" which use 7/16" bolts. The 2 ¼" springs use the larger 9/16" bolts.
