F/S 1977 SB 3.70 Differential
Hi all,
Original Small Block (SB) 1977 Differential for sale. Images below.
Notes:
1. ENTIRELY STOCK.
2. ~50k miles.
3. Had to cut the bolts connecting to the side yokes. A torch + punch and hammer should get these to fall right out.
4. Pulled from a 1977 SB 4-speed manual, should be 3.70 ratio. Worked great up through 2011, no reported problems.
Asking $350 + shipping OBO, but really any reasonable offer is OK. For some of the more experienced guys - would appreciate help with pricing this.
Contact newt.tsai at gmail.com with questions/comments/interest/offers.
Please note: The front frame mounting piece will not be included. I need that for my new differential! I will also keep that little red GM tag as my own personal souvenir (you can easily get them for $8 online).

I would be interested if it is a 3.70 You can check by marking the axle yoke and the drive shaft yoke. Spin the drive shaft yoke and count the number of times the axle yoke rotates say 1 spin axle spoon 3.7 times = 3.70 Let me know what you come up with.
Thanks,

mbeeman350 is quite correct, I have been looking over diff's for a couple of years now trying to decide what I want in my 1977. Only small blocks were available for 1977, either a standard (L-48) or an L-82. 3.08 was the standard rear diff gear for an automatic, 3.36 was the standard diff gear for the stick shift.
Put me in line for the 3.36.
Thanks,
Joel

To be ABSOLUTELY clear: this is a 3.36 differential, as several others have pointed out. Thank you again for your careful attention!! Can't say how helpful you guys have been.
If you're interested in purchasing this 1977 3.36 SB diff please send me a PM or contact me at newt.tsai at gmail.com.
Thanks again, people.
