Default Early C3 sun visor repair/replacement?

Good afternoon.

My drivers side sun visor barley moves. Several questions:

1. As seen in the photos below, the visor is stuck. Can PB blaster be used to lubricate the parts and make it work again?
2.. What should be replaced? the whole bracket? or just the piece that is inserted into the visor?
3. If I go the replacement route, any parts on things I need to purchase? don't want to order more than necessary.

I read this article but its for 77 - 82, and the installation seems to be different for the early C3's.

Any help/ideas/thoughts appreciated.

First I'll admit I am no expert on early sun visors.
However, I have used PB Blaster. DO NOT use PB Blaster in this application. Not only is it the wrong product for the job. But your car's interior will stink for months to come!

thank you for that. I just took it off and now looking at it. I’m thinking I may need to buy a new visor since it’s bent pretty bad.

I’ve been looking at replacements but can only find pairs for about $100 bucks right now 😕😕

Judging by how far the trim is pulled back from the windshield header, the rod the visor pivots on could be in a bit of a bind. That said, they do get stiff from non use. The covering is knitted vinyl so you might try some silicone spray as it would penetrate thru the covering.and wouldn't leave an objectionable smell like wd-40 or blaster.

Looking at replacement visors and they are expensive and I can only buy in pairs. I need the drivers side only.

ill try the silicon spray and figure out the trim issues too.

the pin of the visor is frozen. Remove visor from header, put some masking tape on the pins to protect the chrome finish. You have to work the pins back and forth with a vise grip and it will take some patience. Once the pins are out apply a small amount of never seize to them and reinsert.
Hopefully forcing of the visor to rotate hasnt torn the white metal of the visor as shown in this pic which has rendered this visor to the junk pile
