Default Riddle me this - what are these parts ?

In AIM, what are these wires that seem to follow plug wires and fasten to valve cover bolts ?

I forgot to bag and tag this one. Probably needs to go back on.

I don’t think this is a corvette part. It was on spare tire basket, I think.

The schematic looks like ground lugs for shielded spark plug cables. Probably not needed if you use modern wires and don’t listen to AM radio.

Ground strap on each individual spark plug wire. Never seen them on a car though. Good quality radio suppression wires now-a-days, unless you are wanting NCRS.

I am pretty sure that was only used for big blocks. Small blocks had metal spark plug shields. Lou.

Yes, just big blocks from '65 to '74 that came with a radio. The braiding is a separate tube in which the plug wire passes and has eyelets on each end to attach with either the valve cover bolt or a stud & nut on the wire support brackets on each side of the distributor. Here are a couple of pics of the braided wires on my '67 – all years were this same design:

Could that be one of the grommets for the battery cables to enter the battery compartment??
