Other locations to measure oil pressure on '69 350?
Realized today that the fittings on my new oil pressure tester kit are too large to screw into the oil pressure sensor port at the back of my block (350 engine w/ mechanical oil pressure gauge). The threaded section starts to fit into the block (threads are correct) but there is a nut that is part of the fitting itself that is too large to be able to screw the fitting all the way down (the "nut" part hits the lip on the block before it can seat). A couple of questions:
1. Can an electric sensor be temporarily screwed into the block above the oil filter and then an electric oil pressure gauge or tester plugged into it so I can get an actual read on oil pressure (my stock gauge recently started reading 10-15lbs high out of the blue).
2. Is anyone aware of an oil pressure tester kit brand that has a fitting that will work on '69 350 engine? I think it's a 1/2" nut or possibly 3/8" nut that's on the fitting so it's small enough to be able to screw all the way down to seat in the block.
Thanks much in advance!

Just get a pipe extension for the oil pressure sensor.

You have to remove the entire compression fitting from the block. The hole in the block is tapped 1/8" NPT. The extension linked above will screw into the block and provide a connection point that's raised up clear of the block or any obstructions. Much simpler than trying to get into the oil passages down near the filter.

A 1/8 pipe close nipple and 1/8 pipe coupler from the local big box store will fix you right up for a couple of bucks. Brass for a few more bucks than steel.
