79 hood light wiring
Does anyone have a pic they can share of the factory mounting of the wire for the hood light as it runs up the hood to the light? I have these brackets on my hood, but I'm assuming I'm missing some part of the mounting.

That looks the same as my 77. 2 plastic wire holders that have push in pins. I'll see if I can get a pic.

Here's the upper one. I see this in the OP's pic but the wire is not attached.
And here's the lower one, pulled out of the hole for clarity.

4 vettes, so it looks like the wire runs behind the "brackets" that push into the hood, right? I have 2 of those brackets, or clips if you want to call them that. My pic is of the upper one, and there's a lower one down by the hinge. Im still having a hard time understanding how the wire goes under that. Your 2nd pic is blurry and the AIM pic that Mooser shows doesn't give a close up view either.

Your correct it is blurry. I need to pull this off anyway as my car is going in for paint repair the end of February. I'll go out to the garage, pull it all off and try to get better pictures. Give me a few minutes.

OK, the wire runs under, through, over the barb section, back through and under. Secured by thin strip's of black electrical tape. Yes this is factory. Yes I am certain.

Of note. Wire is fairly taught between pins and runs inside edge of hood. Down in front of rad. support and through with the headlight vacuum lines.

Perhaps, I didn't take the tape off of mine. still factory as far as I know.
looking at your clip with no tape on it. looks like you would just lay it in the grove and tape it up. The tape looks narrower than standard black electrical tape. Perhaps you can source it or cut down the standard tape.
