Default My new gauges and layout

Got some new gauges and made a new layout for my 82. Looks like I got some wiring to do this weekend.

Those look really nice. Who makes those?

And while you are wiring it up, are you sure that the fuel gauge is what you need to see most often, and not, for example, oil pressure?

Thanks! Gauges are from Speedhut.com I have used them on a few builds now, and I usually get the gauges that have warning lights on everything. Decided to save a little $ on this order and get ones without the warning lights (other than the voltage) and the tach without the shift lights.
At this point I am used to glancing to the right to check the vitals

Nice work. Really like how you placed the double din radio. I tried something like your speedo/tach set up but couldn't figure how to get the plastic lense to work over the gauges. I thought I needed that lense to trim out the gauge pod. My Autometer housings stuck out too far. Ended up getting Dakota Digital instead but I like what you did. Good job.

Man, that is slick!! I like it a lot. I too would have put oil pressure where the gas gauge is, but it's not my car, so my opinion doesn't matter! You do you, and keep.up the good work!

Just FYI. On my gauge swaps I just used the cheap LED lights for turn and high beams. Also for the check engine light for the LS swap. Pic of my 73 Camaro.

Looks good. These are built to order gauges, I paid the extra on these to have the lights incorporated into the Speedometer so that I didn't have to add them. It was only $30 more to add and since I was putting the fuel gauge in the center where I would normally put the LEDs, it worked out well with my layout

I like that dash in yours. This 73 has an autometer fake carbon fiber insert that I am not a huge fan of.

I made the instrument panel out of 1/8" aluminum. Then used rattle can spray can body under coating to make it look some what stock.

You and me both. It for sure is the fastest one in the photo. Its probably the worlds most expensive Pinto, lol
Its got a new 302, aluminum heads, roller cam, roller rockers, Edelbrock sequential multiport EFI, backed by a 5 speed with hydraulic throwout bearing clutch.
In the back is an 8" with a quick performance 3rd member in it. Disc brakes all the way around. It too has Speedhut gauges, wilwood pedals and master cylinders, etc...
It's come a long way since I've got it. I've got too many projects.

Kind of reminds me of my 67 Nova I bought a number of years ago. When I bought it it had a truly hacked LS swap. Before and after pics.

I did something similar using Autometer gauges and a Pioneer Double Din. Also added a backup camera to the mix. Center stack has oil pressure, coolant temp, and Volts. The fuel gauge was relocated between the speed and tach. Stock plastic lens cover fits over the Autometer speedo and tach gauges.

His layout = perfect. He has to check other gauges anyway, so keep important gauges together.
