I was 18 when I bought mine, 66 now.
At first I never had trouble getting in & out....now I do.
And the ride seems to be stiffer too.....

Seriously, you'll need to figure this one out on your own. Get in, drive & see what you think..

Yes I know, but a test ride isn't like driving it daily. Thank you

Using a 50 year old Chevy as a daily driver will come with it challenges depending on what condition the car is in. I own a 73 and have no issues getting in and out of it.

I misspoke , I meant someone that can drive more than a few miles. It will not be daily driver but weekend show or club car

I have a 73 convertible and honestly, I will tell you the car sits higher than some of my other rides. Because I am an old Dude, I like to raise the tilt steering up before exiting the car, I got into the habit because my 88 FIERO extremely low to the ground, almost like a go cart. I don’t use the telescoping function.

I don't think the ride in my 72 is any worse than my 2017 Grand Sport.

what do you consider an old dude
In town on city crap city roads = sucks
in the country on smooth country roads, highway I have no issues with the ride
getting in & out is easier than a 2005 GTO.
You can adjust the ride with money
Get a tilt column = for old dudes

Before you buy a car I would highly suggest an inspection of said car, top to bottom = from an old dude

With the right suspension components, you can make the ride your own - anywhere from chiropractor stiff to fairly cushy. As far as getting in and out, if you can get yourself out of a chair that sits a few inches lower than a kitchen chair without much effort, you'll be fine.

I just turned 69 and I’m 6’1”. I drive my stock 73 with tilt wheel at least 4-5 times a week. I use the tilt because, why not. Ease of egress is directly related to how far I can get the door open when parking. Wide open, no problem. Lean left swing my legs out, lean forward and stand up. If I’m parking in my cramped garage and only able to get the door partially open, I need to use my hands to push off from the door sill and rear jamb to prevent pushing the door open further and whacking my other car or garage wall.

Agreed. It's kinda a technique thing; you'll find what works for you then it's nbd.

Now we need some of those fancy swivel seats like were an option in some other cars

Hi DR63,
Good morning. Just another day in Paradise. If you like sports cars you will like a 73 Corvette. They are fun to drive and get a lot of looks and thumbs up. the ride is pretty darn good for a 50 year old car. I have a 72 and it rides as good if not better than my 21 Jeep.
I think you will enjoy it.
I graduated in 70 and these are the cars we grew up with. Gotta love them,
Have a great day,
Fred

I am really happy with mine as a weekender, date night, go get ice cream with my wife kind of car. I am not real tall at 5 foot five but at 58 I don't have any trouble getting in it. In '73 they added some more isolation from the frame and it was the first year the suspension was tuned for radial tires, so I would think it might ride a little better than the 68-72 series but don't have enough seat time in the early ones to really tell. It is not a new car, but is not a pig either. It is a fun classic that is pretty simple. Checks a lot of the right boxes for me.

I would like to have tilt!

Great weekend cars! My car is lowered, and I'm in pretty rough shape for 55 but I can pretty easily sit in the car and swing my legs in after. All without burning myself on the sidepipes.
