Hello Everyone,

Well I finally got one. I've wanted a C3 ever since I was kid and 40 years later LOL I got it. She needs work but I got time! Question is (I'm pretty sure I no what the answer will be) do I keep it original or not? I never thought I would buy this color but it has grown on me. Everyone love it!

Welcome to the forum! And no point in keeping it original when we can see in the photos that it isn't all original now.

If it's an 82 CE there are some special sites/pages how to get more power out of it. 82 were computer controlled and yer going to lose some thing going away from that. Depending what you were thinking. You'll just have to search out what you can do with what you have...

Best Regards

Welcome, to the forum and the world of Corvettes!

Like you, I was never sure about the '82 CE colour. BUT, those wheels make a HUGE difference and I really like it! It looks in reasonable shape outwardly, so for my money I'd leave it as is, outwardly at least. Mechanically, I know the Crossfire has issues, although a long time friend a true Corvette guru always insists that, if not meddled with, they came be very good indeed.

The answer is it's your car so do what makes you happy A respray is a lot of work and/or a lot of money, so unless your paint is in bad shape or you hate the existing color then why do it?
My paint was very bad, so I changed it to what I liked.

Congrats on the CE, it looks good from what I can see and all original except for the wheels and they really compliment the car.. You said it needs work, what kind of work, maybe we can help-(we love helping folks spend money LOL)....

I would keep it as a CE but make sure mechanically is sound. I have a CE and love it. There are not that many CE’s around anymore.

Welcome!

Your car looks great as is! The wheels complement the CE paint, with its black accent. Agreed with others as far as paint; unless it’s a total mess, or you can’t stand the color, keep it.

It depends on what you want to do what the car, e.g, restore it to make it as stock as possible, modify it to your liking, or enjoy driving as is. Members’ cars here range from stock to some with amazing mods.

Enhoy! I bought my lifetime dream Corvette last year. Every day I get to drive it is a great day!

Welcome, you have come to the best Corvette Forum. If you will be doing any work on your car, go to eBay and purchase a year specific AIM and a Chevrolet Factory Service Manual. Don’t be afraid to ask questions on the Forum, there are plenty of guys more than happy to help you.
