I am looking to replace the chrome/stainless large T bar trim moulding. I found a nice OEM piece for sale but it says “fits 1976 thru 1981. The piece looks the same as my 1973. I know looks can be deceiving. What is the difference between the 1973 moulding and the 1976-81 moulding?

I went out in my shop and looked at my 71 (blue) and at my 76 (maroon). The only difference is at the tail of the trim pieces nearer to the halo, the 76 trim is bent downward at about a 45 degree angle whereas my 71 is not bent in that same downward manner. They both measured at 27 3/4 inches from the leading edge by the windshield to the very rear of the pice (bent or not). That my friend is the only difference I could see.
