Opinions on C3 market values
Why do you think C3 are still undervalued ?
Look at the values of other 70s-80s vehicles
and pickup trucks that have skyrocketed lately but the non chrome bumper Vettes are still very low.

Just another Corvette guy
Vintage Mustang and Thunderbird syndrome.
There are plenty of them around so conditions vary greatly and that puts many in the lower price strata.
However, I see very nice examples do bring top dollar.
Same with the 74 - 82 Corvettes.

I just checked out Hagerty's '74-'82 prices and they're all flat or even down from one year ago.
But when you compare values from 3 years ago everything is up.....anywhere from 26% to 48%.
I guess it's just how you look at it...

I blame mustangs, imports, rice burners, millennials, diesel gate ( vw lied about emissions), vegetarians, tree hugging, polar bear **** watching, craft beer drinking Greta loving hipsters......not really I agree mustang Thunderbird syndrome.... lots of good examples still around.

C-3 Corvettes have the longest build run and sold over 440,000 Corvettes during that time making them the highest number produced/sold of any other Corvettes. I would think this is the single most impact on C-3 values.

Yer right, 90's OBS GM pickups have gone way up in $$! That would be a good place to put some money. Not just GM's. A young kid in our neighborhood, I guess he's not a 'kid' anymore, took a rust-free (nice shape) 1-ton Gen-1, Dodge 4Dr 4x4. Put a Cummins in er, lifted 4 or 5", dually rear end. Repainted it real nice in his dad's shop. Had fun with it for 2yrs ....sold it last yr for $82k on Facebook (in 3 days!). I know him so I've followed the project. Bought a duplex with the downstroke, last winter he did up an early 70's Ford High-boy.
Just a trend I guess. They made WAY more of those GM OBS tks than probably all the corvettes ever produced.

I get that new cars were in short supply. And people were holding on to their used cars....good old supply & demand.
I don't understand the increase in almost everything collectable.
I just checked my SW20 MR2.....87.7% in three years...

My best guess is the disco-era malaise associated with the rubber bumper Corvettes has something to do with it. To be sure, other mid-late 70s models haven't appreciated as well either. Early C3s have done well since they are associated with a more exciting period.
